Feast Day Coffee Morning

Once again, Feast Day was the day the Friends of the Edward Hain Centre held their first fundraising event of the year. Weeks beforehand, posts went up on Facebook asking for baked goodies as well as raffle and tombola prizes, and as usual our fantastically generous community came out in massive support! The array of yummies at the Western Hotel , who kindly hosted the event, was nothing short of amazing.

The morning started off with a quiet half-hour, then became hectic. The Mayoral party turned out in support as usual – and no doubt to enjoy a yummy nibble or two!

Throughout the morning, the Friends’ collection buckets entreated people to ‘Please give generously’ — and they did! The event raised the fabulous sum of £830.88….

… and a great time was had by all!

To me, growing up, coffee mornings were a place to gather and natter. If they were fundraisers, you’d be lucky to collect £100. This team goes above and beyond! We are hugely grateful to all the Friends who organized this event, and all supporters, generous bakers, and all those who donated gifts for the raffle and tombola. You embody the can-do spirit of St. Ives, and are all awesome.

Many thanks to Angela Walker and Samantha Peters for the photos.
