Our Volunteers, Part 2

In case you missed our Facebook posts during #VolunteersWeek, here’s the 2nd of 3 posts about our EHC volunteers. Each is a short recap of the longer stories, which are all viewable on our Facebook page

Read in brief what they say about volunteering at the Edward Hain Centre. There’s quite a variety of work they do, so if you feel inspired to join them on our team, we would love to hear from you!

To read the full stories. Check out the full posts from June 6th 7th and 8th

The best part for me is meeting other people from all walks of life. I would strongly recommend volunteering to anyone who has spare time on their hands and wants to give back to the community. The people at Edward Hain . . . are a friendly bunch and very welcoming.’

Volunteering special: Reception

(HCA at the former Edward Hain Hospital) Volunteering at the EHC  ‘…is like coming home to the place I have loved for many years. The management are fabulous and welcomed me with open arms. . . I come away from there with a buzz which is good for the soul.’

Volunteer specials: Cleaning, and making people smile

Martine is often at the Centre, as she volunteers for the St. Ives Food Bank, helping sort and pack food for the many local families they provide for.

Volunteering special: knitting fabulous animals in her spare time which she donates for us to sell at events.

Margaret and husband Jonathon have donated many hours taming the wilderness we inherited from the NHS! She also ran 2 Christmas Wreath workshops for the Friends, donated a ton of new plants to EHC from her business, Sweet William’s Floristand made a significant donation for repair of our lift.

Volunteering in all-round plant wonders!
