Coming Soon: St. Ives Shanty Shout 2023!
For the past six Novembers, shanty groups from all over England have descended on St. Ives to sing at the Shanty Shout Festival. Held in several venues in town, the festival has selected charities to receive donations from collection boxes at all locations. However this year brings a change: with the Edward Hain Centre now officially open, we have been selected as their permanent beneficiary!
Remembering a Legacy
On this day in 1917, Sir Edward Hain, whose shipping company funded the purchase of the Edward Hain Memorial Hospital in the name of his son, died at the age of 65.
