The EHC held its 2nd Christmas Fête on Monday, December 15th, 4 -7 pm
Our pre-Christmas week kicked off with our free, fun, festive, Christmas Fête at the Edward Hain Centre. With lots on offer, there was something for every age.
Trees from last week’s Christmas Tree Trail were still on display, including the Teddy Tree which small visitors could choose a small teddy to take home. Craft/market stalls were on hand for decorations and toys – including FREE toys donated to St Ives Foodbank for their clients in need; and we had unbelievable clothing bargains available in our Hain Emporium!
And what could be more Christmassy than a Visit from Santa?
In addition, to ramp up the Christmas spirit, we were thrilled to welcome the St. Erth Concert Band, who delighted everyone with their playing from 5:30-7:30 🎺🎷
Our 2nd mince-pie bake-off attracted several enthusiastic bakers, and Mayor Johnnie Wells was once again the delighted taster. He also awarded the special Carved Wooden Spoon prize to this year’s winner, Jazmine Taylor – as well as a prize for the tree on the Christmas Trail voted Favourite by visitors, which was won by the 5th St. Ives Brownies!
Congrats, Jazmine and Brownies!
🎄 All in all, everyone took the opportunity to celebrate our 2025 achievements and have a great time!

This year’s special carved Wooden Spoon grand prize was snagged for the 2nd year running by Jazmine Taylor – along with Teddy, who insisted on being added to her winnings.
Well done, Jazmine! Will it be a hat trick next year?
