A fun, festive Christmas event at the EHC
On Tuesday, December 10th, we celebrated the end of the Edward Hain Centre’s first full year with a Mince Pie Mingle. Centre staff worked hard to deck the halls with trees, glitter and sparkly lights, creating a warm, fun atmosphere. The event – the first of what we hope will be many Christmas Mingles – was free.
Guests enjoyed enjoy a live festive performance from Nicole Tesseyman, The Cornish Lark 🎶🎤🎵 . . . . Ate sweet nosh at the Coffee & Crepe Box . . . Shopped our fabulous Christmas Stalls . . . and danced to the Glitter Beats Silent Disco 💃🕺🏻 To crown it all, the event’s sweetest spot was a mince pie bake-off, judged by a local St. Ives luminary, Mayor Johnnie Wells. Good thing he likes mince pies!

And the bake-off prize went to. . .
The prize for Best Mince Pie was won by 17-year-old Jasmine Taylor, who even beat out a pro baker! She took home the coveted prize of a special wooden spoon – not to mention the kudos of having her mince pie, along with 9 others, judged Best in St. Ives by the Mayor.

Although not a fundraising event, it did, nonetheless, raise about £300 for the Centre! A lovely Christmas bonus.
Meanwhile, Jasmine has promised to defend her title next year. We can’t wait.
