The Alternative Markets is Coming to the Edward Hain!

The Alternative Markets is a unique market offering alternative crafts and, as their poster says, ‘celebrating Individuality and Quirks!’. For the market lover, this means stalls offering a variety of crafts with a unique flavour, made by independent creators.

Entry is free, and all are welcome.

Formerly known as the Bristol Markets, The Alternative Markets’ recently-held first Cornwall market in Bodmin was a huge success. The June 27th event will be their first in St Ives – and we are delighted that it will be at the Edward Hain Centre.

If you’re a vendor/artisan/trader interested in applying for a stall, please see below for more information.

Stalls at the Alternative Markets sell everything from crystals and candles to Tarot readings and teddy bears. This can include vintage clothing, accessories, folklore-themed goods. . . All sorts! To get an idea, see the photos below from previous events.

Although the event is not organised by the Centre, you can expect something from us, too!
🔸 £50 Cash Prize Raffle, and of course
🔸 Food & Drink! We’ll have delicious home-baked goodies for sale as usual, as well as savoury snacks like sausage rolls and crisps; and coffee, tea, soft drinks, water to drink. All handy grub for an on-the-go event!

What this also means as that we are looking for help for the day: Volunteers to serve food and drink (several have already signed up; at least 2 more would be fabulous) – and our wonderful baker supporters, to provide us with cookies, cakes, sausage rolls, other cooked savouries.

Can you help? If so please email Claire at clairej@edwardhaincentre.org.uk and let her know: helping on the day, baking, or both.

THANK YOU!

Join us on 27th June to browse, buy, sell, be curious, enjoy food and friends, or all of the above. We look forward to seeing you there!

All booking is through Alternative Markets, who organise the event. As their blurb says, “if you’d feel a bit out of place at a traditional village craft fayre – we’re your jam!”
