3 new, free, ongoing Yoga classes at the EHC

We have fantastic news to share: 3 new yoga classes are being added to our schedule on an ongoing basis. Which means not just 6-week long courses, but without pause. (Except for holidays.) And they are free!

The instructor is Justine Smith, who has been teaching shorter yoga courses at the Centre for two years. Find out more about her on her website.

Each of the 3 classes has a different theme:

🧡 10.30-11.30 Chair Yoga (accessible for those with mobility issues)
🧡 2.30-3.30 Yoga for Mental Health
🧡 4.30-5.30 Men’s Yoga

We will be separating the classes out into individual posts, with more information. For the time being, here is a summary of each: (Please note, images are for illustration only and not taken from Justine’s classes.)

This type of yoga is suitable both for beginners and people with limited mobility. Classes aim to improve flexibility and muscle relaxation, enhance mindfulness and breathing techniques and create a peaceful atmosphere. Using a chair helps relieve strain as well as giving support in which to stretch more fully.

Suitable for beginners and people suffering from anxiety and/or depression. Classes aim to reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and enhance cognitive functions through movement, mindfulness and breathwork.

This class is suitable for all men from beginner level to more advanced. Aims to enhance flexibility, mobility, increase core and upper body strength, improve posture and mental focus, and reduce stress.

To book a place, please email info@edwardhaincentre.org.uk stating which type of Yoga (with a phone number if possible).

PLEASE NOTE OUR NEW BOOKING POLICY
From now on, when you’ve booked, your place will be ongoing for as long as you show up. If you need to miss a class, or are going away and want to put your place on hold, simply let us know by the end of Monday that week, and tell us how many weeks you’ll be absent. We will temporarily fill your spot with someone on the waiting list, and hold it for the time you’ve requested.

However, if you miss 2 classes in a row without telling us, your place will be allocated to someone on the waiting list. At your request, you can be placed on the waiting list again. t

Thank you for your understanding.

These classes have been made possible thanks to a generous grant from Sport England. As you can imagine, we are extremely grateful for this – and for the opportunity to offer our community members these new classes on an ongoing basis.

Sport England grants are mostly funded from the National Lottery. So a big Thank You as well to everyone who plays National Lottery games – You are also part of this wonderful boon for our community members!
