FebFest Success

Springing into Spring with something for everyone

The Edward Hain Centre‘s February Fest on February 22nd was a roaring success! Our log line was ‘Come in from the cold…’ — and come in you did. Except that, to everyone’s surprise, the day was warm and sunny. It was more of a joyful welcome of Spring than a refuge from winter!

We saw about 100 people coming through the Centre, browsing our craft stalls, tucking into hot drinks (first one free) and cakes; and enjoying the tombola, lucky dip, and mini-auction.

Visitors tucked into coffee, tea and cake (evidently yummy!). Also spotted in mufti was St. Ives’ Mayor, Johnnie Wells, seen below with EHC Chair, Lynne Isaacs (R).

Many who came commented on social media that they’d had a great time – and left with some lovely prizes. As one participant emailed us, ‘I love the Edward Hain Centre! I so enjoyed the festival on Saturday, amazing energy of community.’

We have many people to thank: Laura for the lion’s share of organising (with her lion’s spirit!); everyone who donated auction and tombola items, as well as cakes – including the Friends of the Edward Hain Centre; all the fantastic stallholders with their lovely array of wares; all the community members who came along; and not least of all, our volunteers who helped set up, serve, and clear up afterwards.

You all rock – and each one of you contributed to our raising a roaring £2,000 for the Centre!

THANK YOU!

With thanks for all photos to 16-year-old Fran Goldingay (yes, she’s related to Sharron, our manager!) except for Brenda Peters in lovely coat with her cuppa, snapped by daughter Sam Peters, who is our chief grant fundraiser.
