Volunteering at the Edward Hain is like coming home to the place I have loved for many years. The management are fabulous . . .The few hours I spend there go so fast and I come away with a buzz which is good for the soul.’ ~ Theresa L., former HCA at the Edward Hain Hospital (Cleaning)
Ongoing Volunteering Opportunities

Meet & Greet Force
This is office-based, and can involve welcoming visitors, and directing course participants and/or clinic clients to their classes, courses or relevant space.
Also, assist at our elderly visitors’ afternoons with games, singalongs, puzzles – or just a lovely chat.
Working in dementia support / activities
For this more delicate rôle (for which awareness training will be given), click the pink link above.

Community Ambassador
In this role you will help out within our ongoing classes and workshops, whether it’s to preparing refreshments for participants, playing games with them (e.g. for our Care Home attendees or Hain Home Ed Hub) or bringing some particular expertise, depending on what the class or workshop is.
Events Team
Events can either refer to:
🔸 One or two-hour workshops that need setting up with chairs, tables, etc, and helping with clear-up afterwards; or
🔸 All-day celebratory events like our annual Birthday event, Christmas Party or more recent Walled Garden Open Day. Includes any or al of: helping plan and prepare; decorating the Centre, procuring refreshments, and being generally indispensible!

Outdoor Clearing and general handyman/woman/ jobs
For those with hammer, spanner, screwdriver skills, occasional help, both indoors and out, is very welcome!
We also run occasional fun, group cleaning days, like our ‘Big Dig’ clear-up of the previously overgrown walled garden, and other ad-hoc projects. We post about these on our Facebook Page – so if you don’t already follow us there, please do! (click the pink Facebook Page link) Read about our latest one HERE.

Minibus Drivers
UPDATE! We now have 5 or 6 volunteers willing to do this – enough to set up training! A big Thank you to those who signed up.
Our team of volunteer drivers will transport people with mobility issues to and from the centre for community activities like workshops, events and community meals. This may include the elderly, or anyone who has difficulty with reaching us for any reason.
Please check back for future driving vacancies.

Supervisors needed for Falls Prevention Course
Please note: WE NEED VOLUNTEERS IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO RUN THIS COURSE.
We are seeking volunteers to help supervise a Falls Prevention course via iCareiMove for anyone over 65 who needs help with balance and confidence.
This can even help keep them living at home– a wonderful boost to their independence and wellbeing.
Training will be given to volunteers to ensure that they are comfortable in their supervisory roles.
Thank you for your interest!
