Join us to celebrate 10 years of roof-raising
The St Ives Shanty Shout and Edward Hain Centre teams welcome all comers to the 10th St Ives Shanty Shout! Always a memorable event, with rowdy singing and good cheer and beer, this year promises to be more raucous then ever as the Shout celebrates its TIN anniversary.
As tin is especially resonant for Cornwall, with its heritage of tin mining, a special concert at St Ia’s Church will also mark the event.
The event begins on Friday evening, November 20th, and goes through Saturday, November 21st.
Shanty Kids: special concert
2026 also sees a new band on the block: Shanty Kids. Made up of kids from local families, Shanty Kids range in age from 5 to 10 years old. They are being tutored by professional shanty singer Pilchard the Pirate, with Captain Scarlett. After weeks of rehearsals and home practice, they will be ready to share their voices with the community!

Join us to cheer them on at their debut performance with Pilchard on Saturday, November 21st. It’s at St Ia’s Church, as part of a special, celebratory Tin Anniversary Concert also featuring Kimber’s Men, Stuns’Is, Severn Whalers, SIFS and St Ia Boys.
The concert begins at 12:30.

Charity Partnership
Proceeds from collection buckets, wielded by willing volunteers and the odd hard-working pirate or two, go to the support and upkeep of the Edward Hain Centre. These funds are invaluable in helping us provide affordable and accessible care for the local community – not to mention keeping the Centre warm during the coming winter months!
We are very grateful for our charity partnership with the St Ives Shanty Shout – and to everyone whose hard work makes this wonderful event happen. Thank you all.
